About Justine
Justine is a Los Angeles based singer and teacher. She has been singing since she could speak, with her first performances being on the fireplace at her childhood home in Connecticut. Growing up, she sang with the radio, in community theater, at church, and with a few girl bands. There wasn’t anything she didn’t want to sing!
Fast forward to present-day, Justine is now a classically trained Soprano. However, that little girl who wanted to sing everything still lives within. Justine has performed in multiple styles and settings, including opera, pop, soul, musical theater and jazz. Her performances have ranged from the opera stage to a live wedding band, and everywhere in between.
Justine believes there is power in versatility and prides herself on being a singer who exists in not just one genre.
Currently, Justine performs regularly as a Soprano 1 with the long-standing ensemble, Vox Femina Los Angeles, directed by Dr. Iris Levine. She also gigs with her acapella group, the premiere women’s acapella group of Los Angeles - LOLAS (Ladies of Los Angeles) where she utilizes her chameleon of a voice to sing Soprano, Mezzo and Alto parts.
Prior to performing in Los Angeles, Justine was an established singer in Boston, MA. Some highlights include artistic directing and performing in two concerts with the North End Music and Performing Arts Center - “Amore” and “Cabaret”, which featured works from opera to pop. Additionally, Justine had the opportunity to debut the role of “Rosie” in the musical At Love’s Hearth, written and directed by Harvard graduate, Stephanie Hollenberg.
Justine is equally comfortable on the stage and in the vocal classroom. Justine is currently on faculty at Los Angeles Pierce College, as an adjunct voice instructor. She is also the Music Director at Immaculate Heart Middle School in Los Feliz, where she leads a diverse range of ensembles including grade level choirs, sacred music for masses, an acapella ensemble and two rock bands. She also holds a private studio, both online and in the Los Angeles area. Check out the “Voice Lessons” page to learn more.
When Justine is not singing or teaching, she loves to do yoga, dance (poorly), bake, and try new restaurants around Los Angeles. She lives with her husband, Eli in West LA and loves to travel back East to visit family and friends!
